Commander’s Notes
Greetings:
As we continue with winter, snow, and cold temperatures, I hope everyone is doing okay. Spring will get here with warmer weather and sunshine.
We will have nominations and elections for new officers in the next couple of months for the coming year. If you are interested in holding an office, contact one of the current officers.
We still have some great food and drink specials during the week here at the Post, although we have had to adjust some of the prices due to increased costs.
I want to continue to thank all of our volunteers and everyone who comes to the Post—but we could use more of both.
We need to continue to remember all our veterans and their families, wherever they are serving or have served, both past and present.
Watch for upcoming events here at the Post.

Adjutant’s Notes
It appears that Spring has not sprung yet. But we’re all not-so-patiently waiting on her.
Please don’t forget the District-3 meeting on Sunday, March 2nd in North Liberty at 1 PM (EST). The Commander and I would love to see some of your smiling faces there—it’s your opportunity to see how things are run at the District level.
Then… it’s Daylight Savings Time yet again on Sunday, March 9th. Boy, sure would love to see this thing go away.
On Wednesday, March 13th, Post-30 American Legion is having our quarterly meeting at 6 PM. Please be there.
Then comes St. Patrick’s Day—when all of you get to be a little bit Irish too (like us, the cool kids). St. Paddy’s Day parties abound, so please come to ours! As a safety reminder (which I get credit for in our monthly community activities reports), be careful while enjoying the day’s events.
If you’re going to the VFW Spring Conference, it’s March 21-23.
Looking ahead to April:
- April 1st – Don’t take any calls from Mr. Lyons!
- April 12th – Passover
- April 13th – Palm Sunday
- April 20th – Easter
If you’re looking for a really cool podcast, tune in and listen to “The Common Veteran’s.” The guys are super cool and interesting… Can’t say enough about them (yes, it’s us).
