The Canteen Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Canteen and Kitchen located at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9133 (VFW Post 9133).

Canteen Manager responsibilities include maintaining the Canteen’s revenue, profitability, and quality goals. The Canteen Manager will ensure efficient kitchen and bar operations, quality, and customer service standards.

The Canteen Manager utilizes management skills and experience in front and back-of-the-house roles. These roles include overseeing dining room operations, setting menus, setting work schedules, overseeing food prep, and ensuring that the kitchen and staff comply with health and safety regulations.

The Canteen Manager supervises bar operations and ensures staff operates per Alcohol Law Enforcement (ALE) requirements and guidelines.

Canteen Manager Responsibilities Include:

· Coordinate daily front and back-of-the-house operations Organize and supervise staff scheduling

· Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity

· Coordinate, schedule, and provide appropriate training for new and current employees

· Ensuring staff compliance with sanitation and safety regulations

· Manage the Canteen’s good image and address issues with patrons or staff

· Logistical planning for needed supplies

· Consistent reviews of product quality and costs

· Control operational costs and identify means to cut waste

· Create detailed daily, monthly, and annual reports on revenues and expenses

Job Requirements:

· Availability to work mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays

· Salaried position is required to work 40+ hours per week

· Proven work experience in restaurant/bar operations

· Proven customer service experience

· Microsoft suite experience: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

· Strong leadership and management skills

· Proven financial management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

· 2 years of proven experience in food and beverage operations/management

· Minimum of Associate Degree in Business Administration/Management, Business and Entrepreneurship, or related field of study

· ServSafe Manager certified
